Community Worker (Pashto) full-time

The community worker will be responsible for maintaining contact, receiving phone calls, and making appointments with women and families who communicate mainly in Pashto and Dari.
The community worker will be responsible for offering services to her service users such as one-on one support services, integration services, accompaniment services, translation services, filling out paperwork as well as offering counsel and advice regarding social services within the city.
The community worker will act as a liaison between the Centre and her community. She will be responsible for outreaching for new service users and to introduce them to the Centre and its services. The community worker will be expected to work on the client service data and maintain individual files respecting confidentiality of each service user. The community worker will be required to write small reports periodically summarizing her work. The community worker will be expected to do some administrative work
*Required: Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Fluent in Pashto, Dari, English, and French
Working hours: 25 hour / week contract until Dec 30, 2022 with possibility of extension
Work schedule: 9:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. every weekday (occasional availability evenings and weekends)
Salary: $ 18 / hour
Starting date: February 15, 2022

South Asian Youth Collective (SAY) Co-Coordinator (part-time)

The position of SAY Co-Coordinator at the South Asian Women’s Community Centre is a part-time (15 hrs/week) position for a 1 year contract (renewable based on availability of funds). Note*: This is not a remote job.
The worker will be part of the youth demographic, and undertake projects and event-planning that center the needs of the South Asian Youth Collective and women in the Montreal community, and that create spaces for youth empowerment and community-building. The program is flexible to the extent that activities are inspired by and led by the ideas that the collective members bring forth.
*Required: bilingualism (French and English) and part of the youth demographic (19 – 35 years old)
Work hours: 15 hours/week
Position start date: February 14, 2022
Salary: $18 / hour
